Through the simple gesture of trying to grasp, Losing Grip is a simple play on the futility of holding on to fixed identities.  The video extends a connection with Richard Serra’s 3 minute film “Hand Catching Lead” (1968), notions of a hand grasping, the hand in profile, palm open as open identity, and fist closed as closed notion of a self.

Losing Grip was presented at Atlanta Contemporary (Atlanta, Georgia) in the group exhibition Coco Hunday Presents, a collection of works with artists in the Coco Hunday community in 2019. Coco Hunday is an artist collective organized by Jason Lazarus, in Tampa, Florida.
